|Jason Patton graduated from Boston University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. He has always had a passion for television and entertainment. In high school, he was one of the leaders of Conestoga High School's television programming airing on public access. For Tredyffrin/Easttown Television, aka T/E TV, he rotated positions including News Anchor, Sports Anchor, Weather Anchor and Basketball Play-By-Play announcer. Behind the scenes, he was a successful Executive Producer, Producer and Director. At Boston University, he pursued a degree in Broadcast Journalism and actively participated on air and in the management of BU's radio station, WTBU (with its most famous alum being Howard Stern). After working as a news anchor during his freshman year, Jason was named Sports Director for his sophomore year working with current Boston Bruins play-by-play announcer Dave Goucher. During his junior year, he took on the role of General Manager. As a senior, Jason managed the campaign to have WTBU be named the recipient of the class gift leading to the acquisition of stronger radio transmitters raising the profile of the station on campus. On air, Jason Patton hosted the Crank Req radio program on Sunday nights with Scott Reinhardt and worked as the play-by-play announcer for Terriers Football, Basketball, Ice Hockey and Soccer.
Following graduation, he landed a job doing statistics for the Princeton Tigers hockey team under the tutelage of play-by-play announcer Adam Wodon. He worked his way up at Princeton becoming the full-time radio play-by-play announcer two years later and used that as a springboard to become the television and play-by-play announcer for the MAAC Hockey League. Jason covered games appearing on Broadcast.com, MSG Network, Empire Sports and NESN. Following a successful run with the MAAC Hockey League, Jason broadcast hockey games for ESPN's internet service ESPN3 covering top college match-ups through New England and the central United States. Jason served as production executive for Howard Stern Television On Demand while at In Demand and would occasionally be seen in front of the camera. He worked alongside Scott the Engineer doing play-by-play for several Howard Stern bowling events. He also teamed up on broadcasts with Sid Rosenberg and Jim Florentine as a part of Howard TV. In this era of YouTube where everyone can be a star, don't be surprised to see Jason back on the airwaves again in the near future.
As a Production Executive, he won a Telly Award for Best Comedy Show in the Entertainment category and he won a Telly Award for Best Documentary for a 9/11 Retrospective Special.
Jason Patton is an avid sports enthusiast. He has played ice broomball in tournaments both locally and at the national level. As a part of a full cultural immersion in Hong Kong life while living there on an overseas assignment, he has actively competed in dragon boating (both in the US and overseas). He also plays ping pong, volleyball and kickball. He has won his leagues in fantasy baseball and fantasy football. He is a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia 76ers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jason Patton holds a dual degree in Broadcast Journalism and Finance from Boston University.
