Posted by Mike Jolls on 14:13:07 7/10/2002 from 167.132.136.160:I recently found the Jolls family history on the Internet. From what I know of the family history, which isn't much, it sounds like this is the family I belong to. What I know from my mother is that we had pirates in the family. Also, the family crest is a nags head, which would seem to be considtent with what this webpage is presenting. I thought someone might be able to give me some guidance and tell me if I'm "barking up the right tree".
One thing I do know about the family name (and any of you guys can confirm this) is that people seldom say the last name correctly. I guess that's just the family curse.
I live in St. Louis, and am the son of Kenneth Jolls, and Ruth Jolls (Johnson). My dad is a college professor who lives in Iowa. My mom is here in St. Louis, and has remarried. I believe my dads mom was Edna, and he had a brother, Albert. Don't quote me on that. My dad would have been born around 1932 - I think he's 70. My parents divorced very early in my life. They were living in North Carolina (Raliegh) around 1958, and after the divorce, my mom and I came to St. Louis to live with her mother. Oh, by the way, I was born in 56 so you can do the math here.
I've been in St. Louis practically my whole life. I went to school here, and then to a college in Southeast Missouri where I received a BS degree in computer science. I've been writing software for about 25 years, and my interests include playing guitar (I love music, especiall classical)
and some piano when the fancy strikes. I also do magic occasionally, (which I did for many years as a child), although not too much anymore. I have 3 children, Robert(18), Michael(16), Christina(13), and I'm married to my wife Linda (I won't tell her age, she'll kill me if I do).
I've gotten interested in family history a few years ago, but its not something my father is really interested in. If this sounds like it fits with what you know about the family, post a reply.
Sincerely Yours,
Mike Jolls
St. Louis
