Warren Towers is
located at 700 Commonwealth Avenue on the Boston
University campus and is one of the largest university residential
complexes in the United States. Dedicated on May 20, 1976, the Warren
Towers complex was named in honor of a distinguished Boston University
family spanning three generations: grandfather, father, and son. They
were William Fairfield Warren, the first president of Boston University;
William Marshall Warren, longtime dean of the College of Liberal Arts;
and Shields Warren, world-renowned physician.
